Dear Brother,
I hope you find this letter in good condition. How are you now? I am upset to learn from father’s letter that your health is growing from bad to worse day by day. He has expressed great anxiety about your health. I am really concerned about your health and well-being. You must be very cautious about your health. Mother informed me that you were over absorbed and engrossed in your studies and that you stopped getting attention to your diet and exercise. I know that you are an industrious and committed student and always burn the midnight oil to prepare for your exams but this has caused you to become very weak and lethargic. I really appreciate your dedicated effort but it must not be allowed to consume your health. I should like to point out to you that health is wealth and a balanced approach is the essence of life. You must be aware of your health and diet to lead a happy and healthful life. As Joseph Pilates has said:
“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness.”
Here are a few suggestions for you to follow. First, take care of your health and then worry about your studies. Keep a balance between your studies and other healthy activities. Secondly, you must avoid overwork because it is damaging to health. Furthermore, this wealth of health can only be attained and preserved through self-discipline, a healthy diet, the exercise of body and mind, meditation, and self-contentment. Exercise is necessary for the proper functioning of the body and the mind. You need to take care of your diet. Take plenty of water, add fruits and vegetables to your diet and avoid fizzy drinks. You should take your meals on time and avoid eating hastily. It will cause you to have indigestion. Make a regular habit of following these steps. You will see that your health is improving day by day. Then the pleasure of life will be doubled.
I am sure that you will act upon my advice and do your utmost effort to improve your health.
You will realize that you are comprehending your concepts in a better way and have the stamina to attend continuous classes without being exhausted. Pay my compliments to everyone at home. Keep me updated with the progress you made in your health.
Yours Sincerely,
X. Y. Z
