I hope this letter will find you in the best of health and spirits. I am overjoyed to know about your brilliant success in the Middle Standard Examination through the affectionate letter of dear mother. You will surely be given the scholarship which is itself an hour for all of us. I congratulate you on this auspicious occasion. You have always been a committed, studious and industrious child. You have now been promoted to class nine and it is time for you to decide whether you would like to study humanities or science subjects. I know it is a tough decision to take.
According to my humble opinion, you should choose science subjects because we have now entered the age of science and technology. The world is transforming rapidly. Science has proved its marvels all around the world. We are surrounded by technology and the products of science every day.
Louis Pastures has rightly commented;
“The science of today is the technology of tomorrow.”
Science education gives students the opportunity to gain a better knowledge of how things function. The information gained from science can be used to grasp new ideas, make sensible choices and tackle problems scientifically. Studying science helps you make sense of the world and opens the door to a wide range of careers.
Science knows no boundaries, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world. All the progress in the fields of medicine, engineering, space sciences, technology, transportation and communication is due to science This is an invaluable skill in the job market. Furthermore, we can’t exist in the 21st century without scientific knowledge.
No doubt, the study of Humanities has its own worth but no one can deny the significance of Science. A student should have some fundamental knowledge of science at least to the Matriculation level. So I advise you to take science subjects and hopefully, you will excel in this field.
After the completion of science education, you will have a lot of opportunities for a nice career as well. I wish you to become an aeronautical engineer and seize laurels for our country. You need to decide wisely before you take up your subjects.
